Problem Statement:
Customer’s Cloud bill was running into millions of
dollars per annum
Issues:
- Cloud Ops processes not well defined – No tagging of Infrastructure to departments/ products, hence no Ownership and hence many orphan Infra resources found
- No shutdown of infra when not in use
- Higher capacity provisioned and usage was hardly 25%
- Very less usage on demand / serverless services
Solution:
- Defined a 6 months program
- System Study / Document issues
- Implement carried out in phases with specific focus areas to address all above issues.
Task Achieved:
Delivered annualized savings of $1M to customer by delivering multi phased approach to Infra standardization
